Anna Troup 'Bruce is an excellent motivator - he does this without shouting and pushing - he has an ability to make you want to go the extra mile and to achieve levels you didn't think you could. He is reliable and adaptable and listens carefully to what you say - as a result on days where it is clear mentally the focus is not there (and there is good reason for this other than apathy) he will not push a session to its limits but will tailor it to suit the occasion. He is also very good at spotting below par performances and assessing whether this is lack of commitment in a particular session or a fundamental problem. Perhaps most importantly I enjoyed my training sessions with Bruce - we worked hard, but had fun. One thing I found excellent was Bruce's scientific approach to his profession. He was constantly reading up on the latest thinking in relevant areas. This was particularly useful and reassuring when I was pregnant as guidance from the medical profession is often mixed and unclear. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bruce as a Personal Trainer and particularly if you have a set of goals or need a set of goals Bruce is ideal. There are few personal trainers in my view who can train a competitive marathon runner as effectively as a women in late pregnancy. Bruce managed this transition with ease. Medical Community Feedback
Dr James Clapp 'Women who continue to perform weight-bearing exercise throughout pregnancy and lactation at or above 50% of their pre-pregnancy levels gain less weight; deposit and retain less fat; feel better; have shorter, less complicated labours; and recover more rapidly than women who either stop or don't exercise.' The following is an excerpt from 'Aerobic Exercise, Maternal Self-esteem, and Physical Discomforts during Pregnancy' '[This study] found there to be up to 40% few incidences of lower back pain and pelvic discomfort in exercising women, compared to those who remain sedentary during pregnancy.' |
