Fit2Be has recognised the needs for children, aged
6-17, to regularly undertake physical activity. More often than not this
activity is forgotten or put off. The results are that childrens fitness
levels are currently at their lowest point for decades, the increase in
obesity in children is rising fast. Schools are not able to provide a full
range of activity programmes for children and do not spend time with the
individual to devise an activity programme that the child will follow and
importantly, enjoy.
Our Trainers will engage the child in a series of
activities to establish the childs abilities, their interests and chosen
activity. Develop a physical activity programme based on these activities
and in addition encourage the child to review their diet. If appropriate,
advise the child to consult our nutritionist on food awareness, healthy
options and calorific intake. These are all done in consultation with the
parents. This combined approach to exercise and diet encourages the child to
take responsibility for their health. Importantly, children will participate
in activities that are fun.
Our approach is to educate them as well as to develop
their physical fitness. In doing so, establish an understanding of sensible
eating patterns, progressive exercise programmes and long term adherence to
exercise.
