The programme can generally be offered in 3
different formats.
One
If you are concerned that you are at risk to developing CHD and you
need/want to start a structured exercise programme. The is preventative
training and will focus on reducing the modifiable risk factors as well as
advising you on long term exercise adherence and diet modifications. The
diet will be assessed by a Nutritionist and not a Trainer.
Two
If you have been informed by your GP that you are at risk to developing
CHD and you need to take preventative steps to reduce this. Working in
tandem with your GP we will structure a programme to reduce the modifiable
risk factors. A programme report will be presented every 8 weeks that is for
you and for your GP presenting the programme development and physiological
changes. The diet will be assessed by a Nutritionist and not a Trainer.
Three
You have been diagnosed and/or recovering from a CHD condition. It is
important to establish a structured exercise programme to improve your
health. A carefully structured programme in accordance with the Cardiologist
and GP will be structured to offer you the opportunity to develop your
overall fitness in a progressive manner. The diet will be assessed by a
Nutritionist and not a Trainer.
